Damn you PETA! Damn you straight to hell!
PETA wants to replace Punxsutawney Phil with a robot. What would Groundhog Day be without the real deal groundhog? So to PETA, you can suck it.

Blood sugar drop, oh sugar drop, oh oh, sugar gonna drop on you
I went in this morning for my yearly at work blood draw and pee test. By the way, my urine looked fine today, YES! The nurse went for my blood in my right arm and got to close to a valve or something and thus proceeded to get more blood from my left arm. I didn't pass out, but the cold sweats broke out and I felt like I was going to puke. I got a gumball, some orange juice, and about 10 minutes of laying down to make me feel better. Now I'm back in the lab with a sweaty ass.
In other news, the best question to come from the earthquake in Haiti was posed to me yesterday by a good friend. Here it is:
Is there a headcount of how many zombies were buried in the earthquake? Are they dead or just resting?

'Mad Men' actress 'big'? Bullsh!t!
Apparently people at the NY Times are insane. Christina Hendricks is curvy. She's voluptuous. She's really fu**ing hot and I think most men and women would agree on that. Maybe they should bring that up in Congress to get rid of all the partisanship.
Mini Cooper SUV
It's going to be way too expensive for my cheap ass, but I want one of these:

Christina Hendricks... Yowza!
We watched the Golden Globes last night and aside from Ricky Gervais, this was the best part.
Mmm, mmm, mmm.

Jay Reatard R.I.P.
This is so sad. Jay Reatard died last night at the age of 29. I was listening to Watch Me Fall this morning on the way to work. The boys love "It Ain't Gonna Save Me." Then, the other day I bought his first singles collection for $5 on amazon. His songs are very short, very punk, very catchy, and very fun. He might be an acquired taste, but try to acquire it now. What a shit way to start the day.
Check out "It Ain't Gonna Save Me," "Rotten Mind," and "Hammer I Miss You." If you don't find yourself singing them throughout the day, well, I don't really know what to say about that.

Why can't Pat Robertson just die?
Pat Robertson is saying the earthquake off the coast of Haiti is due to the Haitians "pact to the devil." Hundreds of thousands of people are suffering and instead of praying for them, he's blaming them. Nice Christianity there Patty. What a dick.

Haiti
Hey, everybody who reads this, keep Haiti and all it's people in your prayers. They just got hit by a 7.0 scale earthquake.
Cougar and cub carnival
I know of a lurking, shadowy figure who will probably be very sad after reading this article:

Amazon mp3s!
Thank you to a lurking shadowy figure, for telling me about Amazon.com's MP3 superiority over itunes. They might not have some of the bonus tracks that itunes gives, but the new Vampire Weekend album was only $3.99 yesterday as opposed to the $9.99 itunes was charging (you got one extra track there, but I doubt it's $6 good as very few songs in the world are worth that). Also, they have a lot of music for $5 an album. Then there are the daily deals! You have to download the amazon mp3 downloader, but the tracks also go automatically to your itunes library. And, they download much faster! So there you go, there's my plug for amazon.com. They've been bugging me for years about an endorsement. Now they'll probably make it.

A man and his tree
When I was 5, we lived in school provided housing at the junior college where my dad coached baseball. There was a great tree I used to climb in our front yard. One day the school cut it down while we were away. It was like losing a friend. This guy has is much worse. Cheers to Frank and Herbie.

Things I'm sick of...
1) The coverage of the death of the J&J heiress and news of Tila Tequila.
2) Celebrity news coverage of non-celebrities. Are we back in the olden days where simple wealth made by your family entitles you to fame? We need more rich recluses or these jackasses being bitten by brown recluses. Somewhere a recluse needs to be involved.
3) The cold weather coverage. C'mon people, it's winter. It gets cold and snows.
4) Dick Cheney.
5) People who listen to and agree with Rush Limbaugh.
6) The NBA.
7) The balloon boy.
8) Uncertainty about work.
9) This raging fucking headache I have.
Phew, I feel a bit better.

Winter music
Here is the pitchfork guide to the next few months music releases. What am I looking forward to hearing? Vampire Weekend, Clem Snide (probably will be real hit and miss on that one), Shout Out Louds, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Broken Bells, Ted Leo, and Interpol are the top ones for me. We'll see how it goes this year.

Back to work
Holy Jamoly work was boring today. We still haven't been assigned a new project and I felt like I was the only one in our lab block. What is my prediction for the new year? A slow descent into insanity from mind-numbing boredom. It's like solitary confinement with an occasional person to talk to, the internet, and the ability to come and go as I please. But other than those things, it's exactly like being in the hole.
