23%
That's how much of my department they're cutting. Yikes. I have no idea if I'll be on the list and I won't know for another two weeks, but keep your fingers crossed for me. To the people I know who are safe, I'm truly happy for you. To those in the same boat as me, let's hope we pull through. I never thought I'd be in this situation when I started, but here we are. Cheers...

Netflix fast return
Yesterday morning, I got an email saying that my next movie had shipped and would be here today. Last night, I got an email saying they had received the movie. So, I got the movie, watched it, put it back in the mail, and they got it back. All on the same day. Um, no. This is the second time this year that this has happened. I put in the trouble ticket, but upon looking for a place to email a complaint, I found none. You can call and bitch, but you can't just send an email. I don't want to call, but I might. I've also had a few times this year where the movie was shipped and didn't arrive for 4 or 5 days. Usually they're pretty fast, but they seem to be slipping. Hear that Netflix! Ya slippin' fool!

Clem Snide - The Meat of Life
On npr.org you can listen to Clem Snide's new album in full until Feb 23rd. Since their last album was supposed to be, well, their last, I'm pretty excited about the new one. I've only listened to a few tracks so far, but it sounds a bit more put together than the past few records. Thanks Eef!
We're getting ready to hit a slew of new releases, so strap on your headphones.

New Ted Leo song!
Here's a link to the new Ted Leo song "The Mighty Sparrow." If you like it, I think you can download it for free on Matador's website. Enjoy!

Curling
I was just watching the women's curling competition and a commercial caught my eye. A "herd" of office chairs are raging across the grasslands while a safari jeep with hunters is chasing down the chair they want to capture. Across the bottom it says "do not attempt." How the hell are you supposed to attempt this? If you can pull off getting hundreds of chairs to come to life or have them wired to roll across a wide stretch of land while you hunt them down, then I say, attempt it. If you are so slow as to think office supply stores get their chairs from hunting, please attempt it. This world is dumbing down at an alarming rate.
My Senate bid and another link to Christina Hendricks, mmm
Fronte the goat eater has inspired me to throw my hat into the ring for the Senate seat being vacated by Evan Bayh. Qualifications? None that matter. I don't know squat about how Washington works, so I would probably get about as much done as Bayh. What a poor excuse for a Democrat. I can do some chemistry. I read. I play video games. I could make a mean mixtape for the nation. I'd support health care reform. I wouldn't be caught tapping another man's foot in an airport bathroom stall. I don't have a slick haircut. I cuss. I cuss a lot. I could be the next Joe Biden telling people that ridiculous bills are bullshit. I don't really care much what others think of me, so I'd tell lobbyists to fuck off. See, more cussing. I'd have beers with people. Vote for me! A vote for Citizen Grant is a vote for goat!
I'd also support more of this.

RIP - Capt Phil
The Deadliest Catch isn't going to be the same as Captain Phil Harris died from complications from his stroke. His relationship with his boys was one of the best reasons to watch the show.

Toyota conspiracy
Does anyone else think that Toyota has been sabotaged by US automakers? The faulty accelerator pedals were made in good ol Indiana. Ford is turning profits now. Hmm...

Tooth fairy
The Rock will be visiting our home tonight as Logan has lost his first tooth. He wiggled it out this morning. Good job buddy.

Oscars
We've seen 4 of the 10 best picture nominees, which isn't too bad considering we don't get to go to the movies much anymore. By the time the show roles around I hope we can knock out most of the others. Here's the list.
