Octopi, octopods, or octopuses?

Yesterday we took the boys to the Newport Aquarium, which is loads better than the Shedd in Chicago. We saw an octopus that I could have watched all day, a ton of sharks, and an 800lb alligator. It was all quite enjoyable

On the way there we saw two pro-life billboards and one that said "America. Bless God." Maybe he sneezed and we didn't hear it. This got me to thinking about the loads of money people waste on politics. Wouldn't it be nice if instead of putting up expensive billboards that only reinforce people's opinions as opposed to changing them, they put the money to good causes? Why not give money to a charity instead of a group of lobbyists? How about helping the sick and poor instead of inundating our airwaves with hate filled political commercials every two years? I want a candidate that puts out his ideas on the news and televised debates while asking that donations that would go to his campaign instead go to a children's hospital, disaster relief, or disease research. I want someone who can win without having a commercial on TV every thirty seconds. We live in a wasteful world.

A homo sapien should only flash another homo sapien - as long as it is mutually agreeable and pleasurable. No flashing the Octopus.
