Record Store Day part 2

Jess and I set out at 8:30 this morning to grab our vinyl goodies. We started out at Luna and were 15th in line. They had dick. I got a Pearl Jam 7" and the Black Angels "Phosgene Nightmare 10"" there. We got back to the car and decided to go to Indy CD and Vinyl, which is where we should've started in the first place. It was my fault for the Luna decision and on top of that, Jess hates Luna, but humored me. Anywho, I picked up the two White Stripes 7"s, a different Black Angels vinyl, the new TV on the Radio, and Fleet Foxes. I haven't had a chance to listen to anything as I just got back from kids soccer, but the experience was fun.

Highlights:

We talked to several pretty swell people. One guy named Tom gave me his extra copy of one of the White Stripes singles and he had the Karen Elson clear, rose petal 7". It is pretty damn cool. If I had trusted Jess, I would have it. I suck.

We made fun of a weird guy who was sitting in his van across from Luna just staring. He had a magnificent moustache.

I came up with a pretty awesome pick up line for the ladies. Go up with a pen in hand and ask the lady if she needs it, when she says no, tell her she will when she writes down her number for you. Feel free to use it.

Saying, "Hey, you were at Luna too."

I got to hang out with one of my favorite people for a few hours.

Does Youtube provide a footage of the record mania of a guy in Southport, IN? I am intrigued but cannot grasp the profundity of this occasion. WI.

Most people don't care about the RSD, but it's a fun day when you can get limited edition stuff at small independent record stores and hang out with other's who love music for a few hours. Most places have in-store concerts too. Next year try to go to one in Boston, I bet they have some cool setups there. Cheers
