31 years
For some reason, I couldn't stop thinking about how I have 31 more years of work before I can retire. I'll be 34 next week, so almost an entire lifetime more. It was only supposed to be 17-22 until they changed the rules a few years ago. This year will be 12 years for me. That adds up to 43 years of chemistry instead of 29. Fuck.

Wait until you get 5 more years to go. The rules will change again and again and again. You may as well get used to the idea that you may end up working until you are 99. You will be taken straight from the lab to your resting place.
